Announcements

Similar to Parks on the Air, this program encourages participants to activate their Maidenhead grid sub-square by operating portably. The requirements are minimal; even setting up a station or using a handheld just outside of one’s home qualifies. I believe this is a fantastic way to increase local activity. For example, parts of Providence are in FN41ht, while Westerly is in FN41ai.

Since this program is well-suited for VHF, my goal is to encourage participation using .52 simplex, though we could also incorporate repeaters to help everyone get their necessary contacts. I am excited about this initiative and would love to help catalyze more activity in our area.
